Chip Music : Pushing The Limits of The Past Into The
Present !
Hosted by Vin Curigliano of AAVIM Technology, I am joined by guest
co-host Erin McKimm, and special guest cTrix.
We cover cTrix's explorations of early computers, consoles and
electronic music from a very young age , take a deep dive under the
bonnet and discuss the finer detail of the synths/chips driving the
sound engines of the respective early computers and consoles, and
explore the World of Trackers vs Sequencers, etc.
We venture into the areas of orchestration for Film/TV using mock
ups vs real players, weigh up VI's and their place in the sonic
palette, discuss the current limitations of MIDI and the developing
rollout of MIDI 2.0 , reminisce over some of the classic synths,
samplers and gear that we have moved on, and regretted in
hindsight.
We also navigate various curves presented by regional factors
involving voltage/Hz/frame rates, discuss tips and tricks for
mastering for vinyl, and much, much more.
